Celebrity Cruises was formed in 1989 with the primary aim of providing a
premium and high-quality cruise experience at a reasonable price. In 1997, Celebrity Cruises merged with
Royal Caribbean International resulting in two fantastic
cruise brands being within a single entity, Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. Together, the company was determined
to set a new, worldwide standard for cruising, and to create a distinctive expression of superior quality,
grand style, attentive service, spacious accommodations, and exceptional cuisine. Celebrity cruises currently
has 29 ships in service and one under construction.
As one of the youngest cruise companies in the world, Celebrity cruises is already being recognized for their
exceptional service and their fleet of ships have now become the standard used in measuring other ships'
performance and service. Their exceptional service extends to their dining experience as they have carved out the
niche of having probably the finest gourmet cuisine at sea by preparing everything from scratch using only the
freshest ingredients.
If you are cruising with young children or toddlers, Celebrity cruises will provide toys and play products from
the XClub team which both children and kids can play with. Also provided is Celebrity Cruises' own LeapFrog
Edutainment which is am interactive set of game that kids can use to explore every port of call that will be
visited during the cruise while having fun at the same time. Children will be kept busy with treasure hunt games,
arts and craft activities and even ice cream parties. There are also programs and shows featuring talented kids.
They can create their own t-shirt designs and take trivia quizzes about favorite cartoon characters. A lot of
productive activities are in store for the young kids boarding the cruise ship that their parents may even have to
set a particular schedule to be with their children.
Thankfully, Celebrity Cruises doesn't just cater for the kids as most of the activities, facilities and
amenities aboard the ship are designed for the entertainment and enjoyment of adults. Just some of the facilities
and entertainment programs include theatrical shows, dining areas, spas, libraries, sports and recreation
facilities inside the cruise ship which will add to the awesome experience of visiting the best cruise
destinations.
Celebrity cruises is consistently ranked among some of the world's best cruise lines as seven Celebrity ships
were named among the top 10 large ships in Conde Nast Traveler's "World's Greatest Ships" readers' survey (February
2003). Celebrity cruises currently sails to many destinations across the world. Some of these include Alaska,
Australia/New Zealand, Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada/New England, the Caribbean, Europe, Galapagos, Hawaii, the Panama
Canal, South America and much more.
